Surah Al-Balad, Ayah 4 (90:4)
لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ فِىۡ كَبَدٍؕ ٤
English translation (Pickthall)
We verily have created man in an atmosphere:

لَاۤ اُقۡسِمُ بِهٰذَا الۡبَلَدِۙ ١
90:1Nay, I swear by this city -
وَاَنۡتَ حِلٌّ ۢ بِهٰذَا الۡبَلَدِۙ ٢
90:2And thou art an indweller of this city -
وَوَالِدٍ وَّمَا وَلَدَۙ ٣
90:3And the begetter and that which he begat,
لَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ فِىۡ كَبَدٍؕ ٤
90:4We verily have created man in an atmosphere:
اَيَحۡسَبُ اَنۡ لَّنۡ يَّقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ اَحَدٌۘ ٥
90:5Thinketh he that none hath power over him?
يَقُوۡلُ اَهۡلَكۡتُ مَالًا لُّبَدًاؕ ٦
90:6And he saith: I have destroyed vast wealth:
اَيَحۡسَبُ اَنۡ لَّمۡ يَرَهٗۤ اَحَدٌؕ ٧
90:7Thinketh he that none beholdeth him?
اَلَمۡ نَجۡعَلۡ لَّهٗ عَيۡنَيۡنِۙ ٨
90:8Did We not assign unto him two eyes
وَلِسَانًا وَّشَفَتَيۡنِۙ ٩
90:9And a tongue and two lips,
وَهَدَيۡنٰهُ النَّجۡدَيۡنِۚ ١٠
90:10And guide him to the parting of the mountain ways?
فَلَا اقۡتَحَمَ الۡعَقَبَةَۖ ١١
90:11But he hath not attempted the Ascent -
وَمَاۤ اَدۡرٰٮكَ مَا الۡعَقَبَةُؕ ١٢
90:12Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Ascent is! -
فَكُّ رَقَبَةٍۙ ١٣
90:13(It is) to free a slave,
اَوۡ اِطۡعٰمٌ فِىۡ يَوۡمٍ ذِىۡ مَسۡغَبَةٍۙ ١٤
90:14And to feed in the day of hunger.
يَّتِيۡمًا ذَا مَقۡرَبَةٍۙ ١٥
90:15An orphan near of kin,
اَوۡ مِسۡكِيۡنًا ذَا مَتۡرَبَةٍؕ ١٦
90:16Or some poor wretch in misery,
ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَتَوَاصَوۡا بِالصَّبۡرِ وَتَوَاصَوۡا بِالۡمَرۡحَمَةِؕ ١٧
90:17And to be of those who believe and exhort one another to perseverance and exhort one another to pity.
اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡمَيۡمَنَةِؕ ١٨
90:18Their place will be on the right hand.
وَالَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِنَا هُمۡ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡمَشۡـَٔـمَةِؕ ١٩
90:19But those who disbelieve Our revelations, their place will be on the left hand.
عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَارٌ مُّؤۡصَدَةٌ ٢٠
90:20Fire will be an awning over them.
وَالشَّمۡسِ وَضُحٰٮهَاۙ ١
91:1By the sun and his brightness,
وَالۡقَمَرِ اِذَا تَلٰٮهَاۙ ٢
91:2And the moon when she followeth him,
وَالنَّهَارِ اِذَا جَلّٰٮهَاۙ ٣
91:3And the day when it revealeth him,
وَالَّيۡلِ اِذَا يَغۡشٰٮهَاۙ ٤
91:4And the night when it enshroudeth him,
وَالسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنٰٮهَاۙ ٥
91:5And the heaven and Him Who built it,
