Surah Al-Ghashiya, Ayah 23 (88:23)

اِلَّا مَنۡ تَوَلّٰى وَكَفَرَۙ ۝٢٣

English translation (Pickthall)

But whoso is averse and disbelieveth,

وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌۙ ۝٨

88:8In that day other faces will be calm,

لِّسَعۡيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌۙ ۝٩

88:9Glad for their effort past,

فِىۡ جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍۙ ۝١٠

88:10In a high garden

لَّا تَسۡمَعُ فِيۡهَا لَاغِيَةًؕ ۝١١

88:11Where they hear no idle speech,

فِيۡهَا عَيۡنٌ جَارِيَةٌۘ ۝١٢

88:12Wherein is a gushing spring,

فِيۡهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرۡفُوۡعَةٌۙ ۝١٣

88:13Wherein are couches raised

وَّاَكۡوَابٌ مَّوۡضُوۡعَةٌۙ ۝١٤

88:14And goblets set at hand

وَّنَمَارِقُ مَصۡفُوۡفَةٌۙ ۝١٥

88:15And cushions ranged

وَّزَرَابِىُّ مَبۡثُوۡثَةٌؕ ۝١٦

88:16And silken carpets spread.

اَفَلَا يَنۡظُرُوۡنَ اِلَى الۡاِ بِلِ كَيۡفَ خُلِقَتۡ ۝١٧

88:17Will they not regard the camels, how they are created?

وَاِلَى السَّمَآءِ كَيۡفَ رُفِعَتۡ ۝١٨

88:18And the heaven, how it is raised?

وَاِلَى الۡجِبَالِ كَيۡفَ نُصِبَتۡ ۝١٩

88:19And the hills, how they are set up?

وَاِلَى الۡاَرۡضِ كَيۡفَ سُطِحَتۡ ۝٢٠

88:20And the earth, how it is spread?

فَذَكِّرۡؕ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ مُذَكِّرٌؕ ۝٢١

88:21Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer,

لَـسۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ بِمُصَۜيۡطِرٍۙ ۝٢٢

88:22Thou art not at all a warder over them.

اِلَّا مَنۡ تَوَلّٰى وَكَفَرَۙ ۝٢٣

88:23But whoso is averse and disbelieveth,

فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللّٰهُ الۡعَذَابَ الۡاَكۡبَرَؕ ۝٢٤

88:24Allah will punish him with direst punishment.

اِنَّ اِلَيۡنَاۤ اِيَابَهُمۡۙ ۝٢٥

88:25Lo! unto Us is their return

ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُمْ ۝٢٦

88:26And Ours their reckoning.

وَالۡفَجۡرِۙ ۝١

89:1By the Dawn

وَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٍۙ ۝٢

89:2And ten nights,

وَّالشَّفۡعِ وَالۡوَتۡرِۙ ۝٣

89:3And the Even and the Odd,

وَالَّيۡلِ اِذَا يَسۡرِۚ ۝٤

89:4And the night when it departeth,

هَلۡ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ قَسَمٌ لِّذِىۡ حِجۡرٍؕ ۝٥

89:5There surely is an oath for thinking man.

اَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍۙ ۝٦

89:6Dost thou not consider how thy Lord dealt with (the tribe of) A'ad,

اِرَمَ ذَاتِ الۡعِمَادِۙ ۝٧

89:7With many-columned Iram,

الَّتِىۡ لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِى الۡبِلَادِۙ ۝٨

89:8The like of which was not created in the lands;

وَثَمُوۡدَ الَّذِيۡنَ جَابُوا الصَّخۡرَ بِالۡوَادِۙ ۝٩

89:9And with (the tribe of) Thamud, who clove the rocks in the valley;
