Surah Al-Ala, Ayah 7 (87:7)
اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللّٰهُ ؕ اِنَّهٗ يَعۡلَمُ الۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفٰىؕ ٧
English translation (Pickthall)
Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;

سَبِّحِ اسۡمَ رَبِّكَ الۡاَعۡلَىۙ ١
87:1Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,
الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَ فَسَوّٰىۙ ٢
87:2Who createth, then disposeth;
وَالَّذِىۡ قَدَّرَ فَهَدٰىۙ ٣
87:3Who measureth, then guideth;
وَالَّذِىۡۤ اَخۡرَجَ الۡمَرۡعٰىۙ ٤
87:4Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
فَجَعَلَهٗ غُثَآءً اَحۡوٰىؕ ٥
87:5Then turneth it to russet stubble.
سَنُقۡرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنۡسٰٓىۙ ٦
87:6We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget
اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ اللّٰهُ ؕ اِنَّهٗ يَعۡلَمُ الۡجَهۡرَ وَمَا يَخۡفٰىؕ ٧
87:7Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;
وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلۡيُسۡرٰى ۖۚ ٨
87:8And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease.
فَذَكِّرۡ اِنۡ نَّفَعَتِ الذِّكۡرٰىؕ ٩
87:9Therefore remind (men), for of use is the reminder.
سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنۡ يَّخۡشٰىۙ ١٠
87:10He will heed who feareth,
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الۡاَشۡقَىۙ ١١
87:11But the most hapless will flout it,
الَّذِىۡ يَصۡلَى النَّارَ الۡكُبۡرٰىۚ ١٢
87:12He who will be flung to the great Fire
ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوۡتُ فِيۡهَا وَلَا يَحۡيٰىؕ ١٣
87:13Wherein he will neither die nor live.
قَدۡ اَفۡلَحَ مَنۡ تَزَكّٰىۙ ١٤
87:14He is successful who groweth,
وَذَكَرَ اسۡمَ رَبِّهٖ فَصَلّٰى ؕ ١٥
87:15And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth,
بَلۡ تُؤۡثِرُوۡنَ الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَاۖ ١٦
87:16But ye prefer the life of the world
وَالۡاٰخِرَةُ خَيۡرٌ وَّ اَبۡقٰىؕ ١٧
87:17Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
اِنَّ هٰذَا لَفِى الصُّحُفِ الۡاُوۡلٰىۙ ١٨
87:18Lo! This is in the former scrolls.
صُحُفِ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ وَمُوۡسٰى ١٩
87:19The Books of Abraham and Moses.
هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيۡثُ الۡغَاشِيَةِؕ ١
88:1Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming?
وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ خَاشِعَةٌۙ ٢
88:2On that day (many) faces will be downcast,
عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌۙ ٣
88:3Toiling, weary,
تَصۡلٰى نَارًا حَامِيَةًۙ ٤
88:4Scorched by burning fire,
تُسۡقٰى مِنۡ عَيۡنٍ اٰنِيَةٍؕ ٥
88:5Drinking from a boiling spring,
لَـيۡسَ لَهُمۡ طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنۡ ضَرِيۡعٍۙ ٦
88:6No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit
لَّا يُسۡمِنُ وَلَا يُغۡنِىۡ مِنۡ جُوۡعٍؕ ٧
88:7Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger.
