Surah An-Naziat (النَّازعَات)

Ayat 1–25

وَالنّٰزِعٰتِ غَرۡقًاۙ ۝١

79:1By those who drag forth to destruction,

وَّالنّٰشِطٰتِ نَشۡطًاۙ ۝٢

79:2By the meteors rushing,

وَّالسّٰبِحٰتِ سَبۡحًاۙ ۝٣

79:3By the lone stars floating,

فَالسّٰبِقٰتِ سَبۡقًاۙ ۝٤

79:4By the angels hastening,

فَالۡمُدَبِّرٰتِ اَمۡرًاۘ ۝٥

79:5And those who govern the event,

يَوۡمَ تَرۡجُفُ الرَّاجِفَةُۙ ۝٦

79:6On the day when the first trump resoundeth.

تَتۡبَعُهَا الرَّادِفَةُؕ ۝٧

79:7And the second followeth it,

قُلُوۡبٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ وَّاجِفَةٌۙ ۝٨

79:8On that day hearts beat painfully

اَبۡصَارُهَا خَاشِعَةٌۘ ۝٩

79:9While eyes are downcast

يَقُوۡلُوۡنَ ءَاِنَّا لَمَرۡدُوۡدُوۡنَ فِى الۡحَـافِرَةِؕ ۝١٠

79:10(Now) they are saying: Shall we really be restored to our first state

ءَاِذَا كُنَّا عِظَامًا نَّخِرَةًؕ ۝١١

79:11Even after we are crumbled bones?

قَالُوۡا تِلۡكَ اِذًا كَرَّةٌ خَاسِرَةٌۘ ۝١٢

79:12They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding.

فَاِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجۡرَةٌ وَّاحِدَةٌۙ ۝١٣

79:13Surely it will need but one shout,

فَاِذَا هُمۡ بِالسَّاهِرَةِؕ ۝١٤

79:14And lo! they will be awakened.

هَلۡ اَتٰٮكَ حَدِيۡثُ مُوۡسٰىۘ ۝١٥

79:15Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses?

اِذۡ نَادٰٮهُ رَبُّهٗ بِالۡوَادِ الۡمُقَدَّسِ طُوًىۚ ۝١٦

79:16How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa,

اِذۡهَبۡ اِلٰى فِرۡعَوۡنَ اِنَّهٗ طَغٰىۖ ۝١٧

79:17(Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled -

فَقُلۡ هَلۡ لَّكَ اِلٰٓى اَنۡ تَزَكّٰىۙ ۝١٨

79:18And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)?

وَاَهۡدِيَكَ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ فَتَخۡشٰىۚ ۝١٩

79:19Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him).

فَاَرٰٮهُ الۡاٰيَةَ الۡكُبۡرٰىۖ ۝٢٠

79:20And he showed him the tremendous token.

فَكَذَّبَ وَعَصٰىۖ ۝٢١

79:21But he denied and disobeyed,

ثُمَّ اَدۡبَرَ يَسۡعٰىۖ ۝٢٢

79:22Then turned he away in haste,

فَحَشَرَ فَنَادٰىۖ ۝٢٣

79:23Then gathered he and summoned

فَقَالَ اَنَا رَبُّكُمُ الۡاَعۡلٰىۖ ۝٢٤

79:24And proclaimed: "I (Pharaoh) am your Lord the Highest."

فَاَخَذَهُ اللّٰهُ نَڪَالَ الۡاٰخِرَةِ وَالۡاُوۡلٰىؕ ۝٢٥

79:25So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former.
