Surah Al-Qiyama, Ayah 39 (75:39)
فَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُ الزَّوۡجَيۡنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالۡاُنۡثٰىؕ ٣٩
English translation (Pickthall)
And made of him a pair, the male and female.

وَّلَوۡ اَلۡقٰى مَعَاذِيۡرَهٗؕ ١٥
75:15Although he tender his excuses.
لَا تُحَرِّكۡ بِهٖ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعۡجَلَ بِهٖؕ ١٦
75:16Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it.
اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا جَمۡعَهٗ وَقُرۡاٰنَهٗۚۖ ١٧
75:17Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof.
فَاِذَا قَرَاۡنٰهُ فَاتَّبِعۡ قُرۡاٰنَهٗۚ ١٨
75:18And when We read it, follow thou the reading;
ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا بَيَانَهٗؕ ١٩
75:19Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof.
كَلَّا بَلۡ تُحِبُّوۡنَ الۡعَاجِلَةَۙ ٢٠
75:20Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now
وَتَذَرُوۡنَ الۡاٰخِرَةَ ؕ ٢١
75:21And neglect the Hereafter.
وُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ ۙ ٢٢
75:22That day will faces be resplendent,
اِلٰى رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌ ۚ ٢٣
75:23Looking toward their Lord;
وَوُجُوۡهٌ يَّوۡمَٮِٕذٍۢ بَاسِرَةٌۙ ٢٤
75:24And that day will other faces be despondent,
تَظُنُّ اَنۡ يُّفۡعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌؕ ٢٥
75:25Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them.
كَلَّاۤ اِذَا بَلَغَتِ التَّرَاقِىَۙ ٢٦
75:26Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat
وَقِيۡلَ مَنۡ رَاقٍۙ ٢٧
75:27And it is said: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)?
وَّظَنَّ اَنَّهُ الۡفِرَاقُۙ ٢٨
75:28And he knoweth that it is the parting;
وَالۡتَفَّتِ السَّاقُ بِالسَّاقِۙ ٢٩
75:29And agony is heaped on agony;
اِلٰى رَبِّكَ يَوۡمَٮِٕذِࣙ الۡمَسَاقُؕ ٣٠
75:30Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving.
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلّٰىۙ ٣١
75:31For he neither trusted, nor prayed.
وَلٰڪِنۡ كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلّٰىۙ ٣٢
75:32But he denied and flouted.
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ اِلٰٓى اَهۡلِهٖ يَتَمَطّٰىؕ ٣٣
75:33Then went he to his folk with glee.
اَوۡلٰى لَكَ فَاَوۡلٰىۙ ٣٤
75:34Nearer unto thee and nearer,
ثُمَّ اَوۡلٰى لَكَ فَاَوۡلٰىؕ ٣٥
75:35Again nearer unto thee and nearer (is the doom).
اَيَحۡسَبُ الۡاِنۡسَانُ اَنۡ يُّتۡرَكَ سُدًىؕ ٣٦
75:36Thinketh man that he is to be left aimless?
اَلَمۡ يَكُ نُطۡفَةً مِّنۡ مَّنِىٍّ يُّمۡنٰىۙ ٣٧
75:37Was he not a drop of fluid which gushed forth?
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقَ فَسَوّٰىۙ ٣٨
75:38Then he became a clot; then (Allah) shaped and fashioned
فَجَعَلَ مِنۡهُ الزَّوۡجَيۡنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالۡاُنۡثٰىؕ ٣٩
75:39And made of him a pair, the male and female.
اَلَيۡسَ ذٰ لِكَ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلٰٓى اَنۡ يُّحۡـىِۦَ الۡمَوۡتٰى ٤٠
75:40Is not He (Who doeth so) able to bring the dead to life?
