Surah Nooh (نُوح)

Ayat 1–25

اِنَّاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوۡحًا اِلٰى قَوۡمِهٖۤ اَنۡ اَنۡذِرۡ قَوۡمَكَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ يَّاۡتِيَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌ ۝١

71:1Lo! We sent Noah unto his people (saying): Warn thy people ere the painful doom come unto them.

قَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اِنِّىۡ لَـكُمۡ نَذِيۡرٌ مُّبِيۡنٌۙ ۝٢

71:2He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you

اَنِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَاتَّقُوۡهُ وَاَطِيۡعُوۡنِۙ ۝٣

71:3(Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me,

يَغۡفِرۡ لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ ذُنُوۡبِكُمۡ وَيُؤَخِّرۡكُمۡ اِلٰٓى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىؕ اِنَّ اَجَلَ اللّٰهِ اِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُۘ لَوۡ كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۝٤

71:4That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew.

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىۡ دَعَوۡتُ قَوۡمِىۡ لَيۡلًا وَّنَهَارًاۙ ۝٥

71:5He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day

فَلَمۡ يَزِدۡهُمۡ دُعَآءِىۡۤ اِلَّا فِرَارًا ۝٦

71:6But all my calling doth but add to their repugnance;

وَاِنِّىۡ كُلَّمَا دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ لِتَغۡفِرَ لَهُمۡ جَعَلُوۡۤا اَصَابِعَهُمۡ فِىۡۤ اٰذَانِهِمۡ وَاسۡتَغۡشَوۡا ثِيَابَهُمۡ وَاَصَرُّوۡا وَاسۡتَكۡبَرُوا اسۡتِكۡبَارًاۚ ۝٧

71:7And lo! whenever I call unto them that Thou mayst pardon them they thrust their fingers in their ears and cover themselves with their garments and persist (in their refusal) and magnify themselves in pride.

ثُمَّ اِنِّىۡ دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ جِهَارًاۙ ۝٨

71:8And lo! I have called unto them aloud,

ثُمَّ اِنِّىۡۤ اَعۡلَـنۡتُ لَهُمۡ وَاَسۡرَرۡتُ لَهُمۡ اِسۡرَارًاۙ ۝٩

71:9And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private.

فَقُلۡتُ اسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡا رَبَّكُمۡؕ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ غَفَّارًاۙ ۝١٠

71:10And I have said: Seek pardon of your Lord. Lo! He was ever Forgiving.

يُّرۡسِلِ السَّمَآءَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ مِّدۡرَارًاۙ ۝١١

71:11He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain,

وَّيُمۡدِدۡكُمۡ بِاَمۡوَالٍ وَّبَنِيۡنَ وَيَجۡعَلۡ لَّـكُمۡ جَنّٰتٍ وَّيَجۡعَلۡ لَّـكُمۡ اَنۡهٰرًاؕ ۝١٢

71:12And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers.

مَا لَـكُمۡ لَا تَرۡجُوۡنَ لِلّٰهِ وَقَارًاۚ ۝١٣

71:13What aileth you that ye hope not toward Allah for dignity

وَقَدۡ خَلَقَكُمۡ اَطۡوَارًا ۝١٤

71:14When He created you by (diverse) stages?

اَلَمۡ تَرَوۡا كَيۡفَ خَلَقَ اللّٰهُ سَبۡعَ سَمٰوٰتٍ طِبَاقًاۙ ۝١٥

71:15See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony,

وَّجَعَلَ الۡقَمَرَ فِيۡهِنَّ نُوۡرًاۙ وَّجَعَلَ الشَّمۡسَ سِرَاجًا ۝١٦

71:16And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp?

وَاللّٰهُ اَنۡۢبَتَكُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِ نَبَاتًاۙ ۝١٧

71:17And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth,

ثُمَّ يُعِيۡدُكُمۡ فِيۡهَا وَيُخۡرِجُكُمۡ اِخۡرَاجًا ۝١٨

71:18And afterward He maketh you return thereto, and He will bring you forth again, a (new) forthbringing.

وَاللّٰهُ جَعَلَ لَـكُمُ الۡاَرۡضَ بِسَاطًاۙ ۝١٩

71:19And Allah hath made the earth a wide expanse for you

لِّـتَسۡلُكُوۡا مِنۡهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا ۝٢٠

71:20That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof.

قَالَ نُوۡحٌ رَّبِّ اِنَّهُمۡ عَصَوۡنِىۡ وَاتَّبَعُوۡا مَنۡ لَّمۡ يَزِدۡهُ مَالُهٗ وَوَلَدُهٗۤ اِلَّا خَسَارًاۚ ۝٢١

71:21Noah said: My Lord! Lo! they have disobeyed me and followed one whose wealth and children increase him in naught save ruin;

وَمَكَرُوۡا مَكۡرًا كُبَّارًاۚ ۝٢٢

71:22And they have plotted a mighty plot,

وَ قَالُوۡا لَا تَذَرُنَّ اٰلِهَتَكُمۡ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَّلَا سُوَاعًاࣙۙ وَّ لَا يَغُوۡثَ وَيَعُوۡقَ وَنَسۡرًاۚ ۝٢٣

71:23And they have said: Forsake not your gods. Forsake not Wadd, nor Suwa', nor Yaghuth and Ya'uq and Nasr.

وَقَدۡ اَضَلُّوۡا كَثِيۡرًاࣙۚ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَ اِلَّا ضَلٰلًا ۝٢٤

71:24And they have led many astray, and Thou increasest the wrong-doers in naught save error.

مِّمَّا خَطِٓيْئٰتِهِمۡ اُغۡرِقُوۡا فَاُدۡخِلُوۡا نَارًاࣙۙ فَلَمۡ يَجِدُوۡا لَهُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ اَنۡصَارًا ۝٢٥

71:25Because of their sins they were drowned, then made to enter a Fire. And they found they had no helpers in place of Allah.
