Surah Al-Haaqqa, Ayah 48 (69:48)

وَاِنَّهٗ لَتَذۡكِرَةٌ لِّلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ ۝٤٨

English translation (Pickthall)

And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil).

فَلَيۡسَ لَـهُ الۡيَوۡمَ هٰهُنَا حَمِيۡمٌۙ ۝٣٥

69:35Therefor hath he no lover here this day,

وَّلَا طَعَامٌ اِلَّا مِنۡ غِسۡلِيۡنٍۙ ۝٣٦

69:36Nor any food save filth

لَّا يَاۡكُلُهٗۤ اِلَّا الۡخٰطِئُوْنَ ۝٣٧

69:37Which none but sinners eat.

فَلَاۤ اُقۡسِمُ بِمَا تُبۡصِرُوۡنَۙ ۝٣٨

69:38But nay! I swear by all that ye see

وَمَا لَا تُبۡصِرُوۡنَۙ ۝٣٩

69:39And all that ye see not

اِنَّهٗ لَقَوۡلُ رَسُوۡلٍ كَرِيۡمٍۚۙ ۝٤٠

69:40That it is indeed the speech of an illustrious messenger.

وَّمَا هُوَ بِقَوۡلِ شَاعِرٍؕ قَلِيۡلًا مَّا تُؤۡمِنُوۡنَۙ ۝٤١

69:41It is not poet's speech - little is it that ye believe!

وَلَا بِقَوۡلِ كَاهِنٍؕ قَلِيۡلًا مَّا تَذَكَّرُوۡنَؕ ۝٤٢

69:42Nor diviner's speech - little is it that ye remember!

تَنۡزِيۡلٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ ۝٤٣

69:43It is a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.

وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَيۡنَا بَعۡضَ الۡاَقَاوِيۡلِۙ ۝٤٤

69:44And if he had invented false sayings concerning Us,

لَاَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِالۡيَمِيۡنِۙ ۝٤٥

69:45We assuredly had taken him by the right hand

ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ الۡوَتِيۡنَۖ ۝٤٦

69:46And then severed his life-artery,

فَمَا مِنۡكُمۡ مِّنۡ اَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَاجِزِيۡنَ ۝٤٧

69:47And not one of you could have held Us off from him.

وَاِنَّهٗ لَتَذۡكِرَةٌ لِّلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ ۝٤٨

69:48And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil).

وَاِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ اَنَّ مِنۡكُمۡ مُّكَذِّبِيۡنَ ۝٤٩

69:49And lo! We know that some among you will deny (it).

وَاِنَّهٗ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ ۝٥٠

69:50And lo! it is indeed an anguish for the disbelievers.

وَاِنَّهٗ لَحَـقُّ الۡيَقِيۡنِ ۝٥١

69:51And lo! it is absolute truth.

فَسَبِّحۡ بِاسۡمِ رَبِّكَ الۡعَظِيۡمِ ۝٥٢

69:52So glorify the name of thy Tremendous Lord.

سَاَلَ سَآٮِٕلٌۢ بِعَذَابٍ وَّاقِعٍۙ ۝١

70:1A questioner questioned concerning the doom about to fall

لِّلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ لَيۡسَ لَهٗ دَافِعٌۙ ۝٢

70:2Upon the disbelievers, which none can repel,

مِّنَ اللّٰهِ ذِى الۡمَعَارِجِؕ ۝٣

70:3From Allah, Lord of the Ascending Stairways

تَعۡرُجُ الۡمَلٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَ الرُّوۡحُ اِلَيۡهِ فِىۡ يَوۡمٍ كَانَ مِقۡدَارُهٗ خَمۡسِيۡنَ اَلۡفَ سَنَةٍۚ ۝٤

70:4(Whereby) the angels and the Spirit ascend unto Him in a Day whereof the span is fifty thousand years.
