Surah Al-Qamar, Ayah 51 (54:51)

وَلَقَدۡ اَهۡلَـكۡنَاۤ اَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِنۡ مُّدَّكِرٍ ۝٥١

English translation (Pickthall)

And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth?

سَيُهۡزَمُ الۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّوۡنَ الدُّبُرَ ۝٤٥

54:45The hosts will all be routed and will turn and flee.

بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَالسَّاعَةُ اَدۡهٰى وَاَمَرُّ ۝٤٦

54:46Nay, but the Hour (of doom) is their appointed tryst, and the Hour will be more wretched and more bitter (than their earthly failure).

اِنَّ الۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ فِىۡ ضَلٰلٍ وَّسُعُرٍۘ ۝٤٧

54:47Lo! the guilty are in error and madness.

يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُوۡنَ فِى النَّارِ عَلٰى وُجُوۡهِهِمۡؕ ذُوۡقُوۡا مَسَّ سَقَرَ ۝٤٨

54:48On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell.

اِنَّا كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ خَلَقۡنٰهُ بِقَدَرٍ ۝٤٩

54:49Lo! We have created every thing by measure.

وَمَاۤ اَمۡرُنَاۤ اِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمۡحٍۢ بِالۡبَصَرِ ۝٥٠

54:50And Our commandment is but one (commandment), as the twinkling of an eye.

وَلَقَدۡ اَهۡلَـكۡنَاۤ اَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِنۡ مُّدَّكِرٍ ۝٥١

54:51And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth?

وَكُلُّ شَىۡءٍ فَعَلُوۡهُ فِى الزُّبُرِ ۝٥٢

54:52And every thing they did is in the scriptures,

وَ كُلُّ صَغِيۡرٍ وَّكَبِيۡرٍ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ ۝٥٣

54:53And every small and great thing is recorded.

اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِيۡنَ فِىۡ جَنّٰتٍ وَّنَهَرٍۙ ۝٥٤

54:54Lo! the righteous will dwell among gardens and rivers,

فِىۡ مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِنۡدَ مَلِيۡكٍ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ ۝٥٥

54:55Firmly established in the favour of a Mighty King.

اَلرَّحۡمٰنُۙ ۝١

55:1The Beneficent

عَلَّمَ الۡقُرۡاٰنَؕ ۝٢

55:2Hath made known the Qur'an.

خَلَقَ الۡاِنۡسَانَۙ ۝٣

55:3He hath created man.

عَلَّمَهُ الۡبَيَانَ ۝٤

55:4He hath taught him utterance.

اَلشَّمۡسُ وَالۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٍ ۝٥

55:5The sun and the moon are made punctual.

وَّالنَّجۡمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدٰنِ ۝٦

55:6The stars and the trees adore.

وَالسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الۡمِيۡزَانَۙ ۝٧

55:7And the sky He hath uplifted; and He hath set the measure,

اَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡا فِى الۡمِيۡزَانِ ۝٨

55:8That ye exceed not the measure,

وَاَقِيۡمُوا الۡوَزۡنَ بِالۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُوا الۡمِيۡزَانَ ۝٩

55:9But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof.

وَالۡاَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡاَنَامِۙ ۝١٠

55:10And the earth hath He appointed for (His) creatures,

فِيۡهَا فَاكِهَةٌۙ وَّالنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ الۡاَكۡمَامِۖ ۝١١

55:11Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees,

وَالۡحَبُّ ذُوالۡعَصۡفِ وَالرَّيۡحَانُۚ ۝١٢

55:12Husked grain and scented herb.

فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبٰنِ ۝١٣

55:13Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny?
