Surah An-Najm, Ayah 52 (53:52)
وَقَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُؕ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا هُمۡ اَظۡلَمَ وَاَطۡغٰىؕ ٥٢
English translation (Pickthall)
And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious;

وَاَنَّ سَعۡيَهٗ سَوۡفَ يُرٰى ٤٠
53:40And that his effort will be seen.
ثُمَّ يُجۡزٰٮهُ الۡجَزَآءَ الۡاَوۡفٰىۙ ٤١
53:41And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment;
وَاَنَّ اِلٰى رَبِّكَ الۡمُنۡتَهٰىۙ ٤٢
53:42And that thy Lord, He is the goal;
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَضۡحَكَ وَاَبۡكٰىۙ ٤٣
53:43And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep,
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَمَاتَ وَ اَحۡيَاۙ ٤٤
53:44And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life;
وَاَنَّهٗ خَلَقَ الزَّوۡجَيۡنِ الذَّكَرَ وَالۡاُنۡثٰىۙ ٤٥
53:45And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female,
مِنۡ نُّطۡفَةٍ اِذَا تُمۡنٰى ٤٦
53:46From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth;
وَاَنَّ عَلَيۡهِ النَّشۡاَةَ الۡاُخۡرٰىۙ ٤٧
53:47And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth;
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ اَغۡنٰى وَ اَقۡنٰىۙ ٤٨
53:48And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth;
وَاَنَّهٗ هُوَ رَبُّ الشِّعۡرٰىۙ ٤٩
53:49And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius;
وَاَنَّهٗۤ اَهۡلَكَ عَادَࣙا الۡأُوْلٰىۙ ٥٠
53:50And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad,
وَثَمُوۡدَا۟ فَمَاۤ اَبۡقٰىۙ ٥١
53:51And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not;
وَقَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُؕ اِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوۡا هُمۡ اَظۡلَمَ وَاَطۡغٰىؕ ٥٢
53:52And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious;
وَالۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ اَهۡوٰىۙ ٥٣
53:53And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed
فَغَشّٰٮهَا مَا غَشّٰىۚ ٥٤
53:54So that there covered them that which did cover.
فَبِاَىِّ اٰلَاۤءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارٰى ٥٥
53:55Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute?
هٰذَا نَذِيۡرٌ مِّنَ النُّذُرِ الۡاُوۡلٰٓى ٥٦
53:56This is a warner of the warners of old.
اَزِفَتِ الۡاٰزِفَةُۚ ٥٧
53:57The threatened Hour is nigh.
لَيۡسَ لَهَا مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ كَاشِفَةٌؕ ٥٨
53:58None beside Allah can disclose it.
اَفَمِنۡ هٰذَا الۡحَدِيۡثِ تَعۡجَبُوۡنَۙ ٥٩
53:59Marvel ye then at this statement,
وَتَضۡحَكُوۡنَ وَلَا تَبۡكُوۡنَۙ ٦٠
53:60And laugh and not weep,
وَاَنۡتُمۡ سٰمِدُوۡنَ ٦١
53:61While ye amuse yourselves?
فَاسۡجُدُوۡا لِلّٰهِ وَاعۡبُدُوۡا۩ ٦٢
53:62Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him.
اِقۡتَـرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الۡقَمَرُ ١
54:1The hour drew nigh and the moon was rent in twain.
وَاِنۡ يَّرَوۡا اٰيَةً يُّعۡرِضُوۡا وَيَقُوۡلُوۡا سِحۡرٌ مُّسۡتَمِرٌّ ٢
54:2And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion.
وَكَذَّبُوۡا وَاتَّبَعُوۡۤا اَهۡوَآءَهُمۡ وَكُلُّ اَمۡرٍ مُّسۡتَقِرٌّ ٣
54:3They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision
