Surah As-Saaffat, Ayah 176 (37:176)

اَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ ۝١٧٦

English translation (Pickthall)

Would they hasten on Our doom?

فَاِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَۙ ۝١٦١

37:161Lo! verily, ye and that which ye worship,

مَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ بِفٰتِنِيۡنَۙ ۝١٦٢

37:162Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him.

اِلَّا مَنۡ هُوَ صَالِ الۡجَحِيۡمِ ۝١٦٣

37:163Save him who is to burn in hell.

وَمَا مِنَّاۤ اِلَّا لَهٗ مَقَامٌ مَّعۡلُوۡمٌۙ ۝١٦٤

37:164There is not one of us but hath his known position.

وَّاِنَّا لَـنَحۡنُ الصَّآفُّوۡنَۚ ۝١٦٥

37:165Lo! we, even we are they who set the ranks,

وَاِنَّا لَـنَحۡنُ الۡمُسَبِّحُوۡنَ ۝١٦٦

37:166Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise

وَاِنۡ كَانُوۡا لَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَۙ ۝١٦٧

37:167And indeed they used to say:

لَوۡ اَنَّ عِنۡدَنَا ذِكۡرًا مِّنَ الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَۙ ۝١٦٨

37:168If we had but a reminder from the men of old

لَـكُنَّا عِبَادَ اللّٰهِ الۡمُخۡلَصِيۡنَ ۝١٦٩

37:169We would be single-minded slaves of Allah.

فَكَفَرُوۡا بِهٖ فَسَوۡفَ يَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۝١٧٠

37:170Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know.

وَلَقَدۡ سَبَقَتۡ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَ ۖۚ ۝١٧١

37:171And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn)

اِنَّهُمۡ لَهُمُ الۡمَنۡصُوۡرُوۡنَ ۝١٧٢

37:172That they verily would be helped,

وَاِنَّ جُنۡدَنَا لَهُمُ الۡغٰلِبُوۡنَ ۝١٧٣

37:173And that Our host, they verily would be the victors.

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتّٰى حِيۡنٍۙ ۝١٧٤

37:174So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile,

وَّاَبۡصِرۡهُمۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُوۡنَ ۝١٧٥

37:175And watch, for they will (soon) see.

اَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ ۝١٧٦

37:176Would they hasten on Our doom?

فَاِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمۡ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ الۡمُنۡذَرِيۡنَ ۝١٧٧

37:177But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned.

وَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ حَتّٰى حِيۡنٍۙ ۝١٧٨

37:178Withdraw from them awhile

وَّاَبۡصِرۡ فَسَوۡفَ يُبۡصِرُوۡنَ ۝١٧٩

37:179And watch, for they will (soon) see.

سُبۡحٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوۡنَۚ ۝١٨٠

37:180Glorified be thy Lord, the Lord of Majesty, from that which they attribute (unto Him)

وَسَلٰمٌ عَلَى الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَۚ ۝١٨١

37:181And peace be unto those sent (to warn).

وَالۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ ۝١٨٢

37:182And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!

صٓ وَالۡقُرۡاٰنِ ذِى الذِّكۡرِؕ ۝١

38:1Sad. By the renowned Qur'an,

بَلِ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا فِىۡ عِزَّةٍ وَّشِقَاقٍ ۝٢

38:2Nay, but those who disbelieve are in false pride and schism.

كَمۡ اَهۡلَـكۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَّلَاتَ حِيۡنَ مَنَاصٍ ۝٣

38:3How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they cried out when it was no longer the time for escape!
