Surah Al-Ankaboot (العَنکبوت)

Ayat 1–25

الٓمّٓۚ ۝١

29:1Alif. Lam. Mim.

اَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ اَنۡ يُّتۡرَكُوۡۤا اَنۡ يَّقُوۡلُوۡۤا اٰمَنَّا وَهُمۡ لَا يُفۡتَـنُوۡنَ ۝٢

29:2Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction?

وَلَقَدۡ فَتَـنَّا الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ صَدَقُوۡا وَلَيَعۡلَمَنَّ الۡكٰذِبِيۡنَ ۝٣

29:3Lo! We tested those who were before them. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign.

اَمۡ حَسِبَ الَّذِيۡنَ يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ السَّيِّاٰتِ اَنۡ يَّسۡبِقُوۡنَا ؕ سَآءَ مَا يَحۡكُمُوۡنَ ۝٤

29:4Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide.

مَنۡ كَانَ يَرۡجُوۡا لِقَآءَ اللّٰهِ فَاِنَّ اَجَلَ اللّٰهِ لَاٰتٍؕ وَهُوَ السَّمِيۡعُ الۡعَلِيۡمُ ۝٥

29:5Whoso looketh forward to the meeting with Allah (let him know that) Allah's reckoning is surely nigh, and He is the Hearer, the Knower.

وَمَنۡ جَاهَدَ فَاِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفۡسِهٖؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ لَـغَنِىٌّ عَنِ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ ۝٦

29:6And whosoever striveth, striveth only for himself, for lo! Allah is altogether Independent of (His) creatures.

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَـنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنۡهُمۡ سَيِّاٰتِهِمۡ وَلَـنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ اَحۡسَنَ الَّذِىۡ كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ۝٧

29:7And as for those who believe and do good works, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall repay them the best that they did.

وَوَصَّيۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ بِوَالِدَيۡهِ حُسۡنًاؕ وَاِنۡ جَاهَدٰكَ لِتُشۡرِكَ بِىۡ مَا لَـيۡسَ لَـكَ بِهٖ عِلۡمٌ فَلَا تُطِعۡهُمَاؕ اِلَىَّ مَرۡجِعُكُمۡ فَاُنَبِّئُكُمۡ بِمَا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ۝٨

29:8We have enjoined on man kindness to parents; but if they strive to make thee join with Me that of which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Unto Me is your return and I shall tell you what ye used to do.

وَالَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ لَـنُدۡخِلَـنَّهُمۡ فِى الصّٰلِحِيۡنَ ۝٩

29:9And as for those who believe and do good works, We verily shall make them enter in among the righteous.

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنۡ يَّقُوۡلُ اٰمَنَّا بِاللّٰهِ فَاِذَاۤ اُوۡذِىَ فِى اللّٰهِ جَعَلَ فِتۡنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللّٰهِؕ وَلَٮِٕنۡ جَآءَ نَـصۡرٌ مِّنۡ رَّبِّكَ لَيَـقُوۡلُنَّ اِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمۡؕ اَوَلَـيۡسَ اللّٰهُ بِاَعۡلَمَ بِمَا فِىۡ صُدُوۡرِ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ ۝١٠

29:10Of mankind is he who saith: We believe in Allah, but, if he be made to suffer for the sake of Allah, he mistaketh the persecution of mankind for Allah's punishment; and then, if victory cometh from thy Lord, will say: Lo! we were with you (all the while). Is not Allah best aware of what is in the bosoms of (His) creatures?

وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَلَيَـعۡلَمَنَّ الۡمُنٰفِقِيۡنَ ۝١١

29:11Verily Allah knoweth those who believe, and verily He knoweth the hypocrites.

وَقَالَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا لِلَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوۡا سَبِيۡلَـنَا وَلۡـنَحۡمِلۡ خَطٰيٰكُمۡؕ وَمَا هُمۡ بِحٰمِلِيۡنَ مِنۡ خَطٰيٰهُمۡ مِّنۡ شَىۡءٍؕ اِنَّهُمۡ لَـكٰذِبُوۡنَ ۝١٢

29:12Those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: Follow our way (of religion) and we verily will bear your sins (for you). They cannot bear aught of their sins. Lo! they verily are liars.

وَلَيَحۡمِلُنَّ اَثۡقَالَهُمۡ وَاَثۡقَالًا مَّعَ اَثۡقَالِهِمۡ وَلَـيُسۡــَٔـلُنَّ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ عَمَّا كَانُوۡا يَفۡتَرُوۡنَ ۝١٣

29:13But they verily will bear their own loads and other loads beside their own, and they verily will be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they invented.

وَلَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوۡحًا اِلٰى قَوۡمِهٖ فَلَبِثَ فِيۡهِمۡ اَلۡفَ سَنَةٍ اِلَّا خَمۡسِيۡنَ عَامًاؕ فَاَخَذَهُمُ الطُّوۡفَانُ وَهُمۡ ظٰلِمُوۡنَ ۝١٤

29:14And verily we sent Noah (as Our messenger) unto his folk, and he continued with them for a thousand years save fifty years; and the flood engulfed them, for they were wrong-doers.

فَاَنۡجَيۡنٰهُ وَاَصۡحٰبَ السَّفِيۡنَةِ وَجَعَلۡنٰهَاۤ اٰيَةً لِّـلۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ ۝١٥

29:15And We rescued him and those with him in the ship, and made of it a portent for the peoples.

وَاِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ اِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰهَ وَاتَّقُوۡهُ ؕ ذٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٌ لَّـكُمۡ اِنۡ كُنۡـتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۝١٦

29:16And Abraham! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Serve Allah, and keep your duty unto Him; that is better for you if ye did but know.

اِنَّمَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ اَوۡثَانًا وَّتَخۡلُقُوۡنَ اِفۡكًاؕ اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ لَا يَمۡلِكُوۡنَ لَـكُمۡ رِزۡقًا فَابۡتَغُوۡا عِنۡدَ اللّٰهِ الرِّزۡقَ وَاعۡبُدُوۡهُ وَاشۡكُرُوۡا لَهٗؕ اِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ۝١٧

29:17Ye serve instead of Allah only idols, and ye only invent a lie. Lo! those whom ye serve instead of Allah own no provision for you. So seek your provision from Allah, and serve Him, and give thanks unto Him, (for) unto Him ye will be brought back.

وَاِنۡ تُكَذِّبُوۡا فَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ اُمَمٌ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡؕ وَمَا عَلَى الرَّسُوۡلِ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ ۝١٨

29:18But if ye deny, then nations have denied before you. The messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly.

اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا كَيۡفَ يُبۡدِئُ اللّٰهُ الۡخَـلۡقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيۡدُهٗؕ اِنَّ ذٰ لِكَ عَلَى اللّٰهِ يَسِيۡرٌ ۝١٩

29:19See they not how Allah produceth creation, then reproduceth it? Lo! for Allah that is easy.

قُلۡ سِيۡرُوۡا فِى الۡاَرۡضِ فَانْظُرُوۡا كَيۡفَ بَدَاَ الۡخَـلۡقَ ثُمَّ اللّٰهُ يُنۡشِئُ النَّشۡاَةَ الۡاٰخِرَةَ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ قَدِيۡرٌۚ ۝٢٠

29:20Say (O Muhammad): Travel in the land and see how He originated creation, then Allah bringeth forth the later growth. Lo! Allah is Able to do all things.

يُعَذِّبُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيَرۡحَمُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُۚ وَاِلَيۡهِ تُقۡلَبُوۡنَ ۝٢١

29:21He punisheth whom He will and showeth mercy unto whom He will, and unto Him ye will be turned.

وَمَاۤ اَنۡـتُمۡ بِمُعۡجِزِيۡنَ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ وَلَا فِى السَّمَآءِ وَمَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ مِنۡ وَّلِىٍّ وَّلَا نَصِيۡرٍ ۝٢٢

29:22Ye cannot escape (from Him) in the earth or in the sky, and beside Allah there is for you no friend nor helper.

وَالَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ وَلِقَآٮِٕهٖۤ اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ يَٮِٕسُوۡا مِنۡ رَّحۡمَتِىۡ وَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِيۡمٌ ۝٢٣

29:23Those who disbelieve in the revelations of Allah and in (their) Meeting with Him, such have no hope of My mercy. For such there is a painful doom.

فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ قَالُوا اقۡتُلُوۡهُ اَوۡ حَرِّقُوۡهُ فَاَنۡجٰٮهُ اللّٰهُ مِنَ النَّارِؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ يُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ ۝٢٤

29:24But the answer of his folk was only that they said: "Kill him" or "Burn him." Then Allah saved him from the Fire. Lo! herein verily are portents for folk who believe.

وَقَالَ اِنَّمَا اتَّخَذۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰهِ اَوۡثَانًا ۙ مَّوَدَّةَ بَيۡنِكُمۡ فِى الۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا ۚ ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُ بَعۡضُكُمۡ بِبَعۡضٍ وَّيَلۡعَنُ بَعۡضُكُمۡ بَعۡضًا وَّمَاۡوٰٮكُمُ النَّارُ وَمَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ نّٰصِرِيۡنَۙ ۝٢٥

29:25He said: Ye have chosen only idols instead of Allah. The love between you is only in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection ye will deny each other and curse each other, and your abode will be the Fire, and ye will have no helpers.
