Surah Al-Shuara, Ayah 76 (26:76)
اَنۡـتُمۡ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمُ الۡاَقۡدَمُوۡنَۖ ٧٦
English translation (Pickthall)
Ye and your forefathers!

وَاَنۡجَيۡنَا مُوۡسٰى وَمَنۡ مَّعَهٗۤ اَجۡمَعِيۡنَۚ ٦٥
26:65And We saved Moses and those with him, every one;
ثُمَّ اَغۡرَقۡنَا الۡاٰخَرِيۡنَؕ ٦٦
26:66And We drowned the others.
اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيَةً ؕ وَمَا كَانَ اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَ ٦٧
26:67Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.
وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الرَّحِيۡمُ ٦٨
26:68And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.
وَاتۡلُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَبَاَ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَۘ ٦٩
26:69Recite unto them the story of Abraham:
اِذۡ قَالَ لِاَبِيۡهِ وَقَوۡمِهٖ مَا تَعۡبُدُوۡنَ ٧٠
26:70When he said unto his father and his folk: What worship ye?
قَالُوۡا نَـعۡبُدُ اَصۡنَامًا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عٰكِفِيۡنَ ٧١
26:71They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them.
قَالَ هَلۡ يَسۡمَعُوۡنَكُمۡ اِذۡ تَدۡعُوۡنَۙ ٧٢
26:72He said: Do they hear you when ye cry?
اَوۡ يَنۡفَعُوۡنَكُمۡ اَوۡ يَضُرُّوۡنَ ٧٣
26:73Or do they benefit or harm you?
قَالُوۡا بَلۡ وَجَدۡنَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا كَذٰ لِكَ يَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ٧٤
26:74They said: Nay, but we found our fathers acting on this wise.
قَالَ اَفَرَءَيۡتُمۡ مَّا كُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡبُدُوۡنَۙ ٧٥
26:75He said: See now that which ye worship,
اَنۡـتُمۡ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمُ الۡاَقۡدَمُوۡنَۖ ٧٦
26:76Ye and your forefathers!
فَاِنَّهُمۡ عَدُوٌّ لِّىۡۤ اِلَّا رَبَّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ ٧٧
26:77Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds,
الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَنِىۡ فَهُوَ يَهۡدِيۡنِۙ ٧٨
26:78Who created me, and He doth guide me,
وَالَّذِىۡ هُوَ يُطۡعِمُنِىۡ وَيَسۡقِيۡنِۙ ٧٩
26:79And Who feedeth me and watereth me.
وَاِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِيۡنِۙ ٨٠
26:80And when I sicken, then He healeth me,
وَالَّذِىۡ يُمِيۡتُنِىۡ ثُمَّ يُحۡيِيۡنِۙ ٨١
26:81And Who causeth me to die, then giveth me life (again),
وَالَّذِىۡۤ اَطۡمَعُ اَنۡ يَّغۡفِرَ لِىۡ خَطِٓیْــَٔـتِىۡ يَوۡمَ الدِّيۡنِؕ ٨٢
26:82And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment.
رَبِّ هَبۡ لِىۡ حُكۡمًا وَّاَلۡحِقۡنِىۡ بِالصّٰلِحِيۡنَۙ ٨٣
26:83My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous.
وَاجۡعَلْ لِّىۡ لِسَانَ صِدۡقٍ فِى الۡاٰخِرِيۡنَۙ ٨٤
26:84And give unto me a good report in later generations.
وَاجۡعَلۡنِىۡ مِنۡ وَّرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ النَّعِيۡمِۙ ٨٥
26:85And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight,
وَاغۡفِرۡ لِاَبِىۡۤ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ مِنَ الضَّآلِّيۡنَۙ ٨٦
26:86And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err.
وَلَا تُخۡزِنِىۡ يَوۡمَ يُبۡعَثُوۡنَۙ ٨٧
26:87And abase me not on the day when they are raised,
يَوۡمَ لَا يَنۡفَعُ مَالٌ وَّلَا بَنُوۡنَۙ ٨٨
26:88The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man)
اِلَّا مَنۡ اَتَى اللّٰهَ بِقَلۡبٍ سَلِيۡمٍؕ ٨٩
26:89Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart.
وَاُزۡلِفَتِ الۡجَـنَّةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَۙ ٩٠
26:90And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil).
