Surah Al-Shuara (الشُّعَرَاء)

Ayat 1–25

طٰسٓمّٓ ۝١

26:1Ta. Sin. Mim.

تِلۡكَ اٰيٰتُ الۡكِتٰبِ الۡمُبِيۡنِ ۝٢

26:2These are revelations of the Scripture that maketh plain.

لَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَّـفۡسَكَ اَلَّا يَكُوۡنُوۡا مُؤۡمِنِيۡنَ ۝٣

26:3It may be that thou tormentest thyself (O Muhammad) because they believe not.

اِنۡ نَّشَاۡ نُنَزِّلۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ اٰيَةً فَظَلَّتۡ اَعۡنَاقُهُمۡ لَهَا خٰضِعِيۡنَ ۝٤

26:4If We will, We can send down on them from the sky a portent so that their necks would remain bowed before it.

وَمَا يَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ مِّنۡ ذِكۡرٍ مِّنَ الرَّحۡمٰنِ مُحۡدَثٍ اِلَّا كَانُوۡا عَنۡهُ مُعۡرِضِيۡنَ ۝٥

26:5Never cometh there unto them a fresh reminder from the Beneficent One, but they turn away from it.

فَقَدۡ كَذَّبُوۡا فَسَيَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ اَنۡۢـبٰٓــؤُا مَا كَانُوۡا بِهٖ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ ۝٦

26:6Now they have denied (the Truth); but there will come unto them tidings of that whereat they used to scoff.

اَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡا اِلَى الۡاَرۡضِ كَمۡ اَنۡۢبَتۡنَا فِيۡهَا مِنۡ كُلِّ زَوۡجٍ كَرِيۡمٍ ۝٧

26:7Have they not seen the earth, how much of every fruitful kind We make to grow therein?

اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيَةًؕ وَّمَا كَانَ اَكۡثَرُهُمۡ مُّؤۡمِنِيۡنَ ۝٨

26:8Lo! herein is indeed a portent; yet most of them are not believers.

وَاِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الرَّحِيۡمُ ۝٩

26:9And lo! thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful.

وَاِذۡ نَادٰى رَبُّكَ مُوۡسٰۤى اَنِ ائۡتِ الۡقَوۡمَ الظّٰلِمِيۡنَۙ ۝١٠

26:10And when thy Lord called Moses, saying: Go unto the wrongdoing folk,

قَوۡمَ فِرۡعَوۡنَؕ اَلَا يَتَّقُوۡنَ ۝١١

26:11The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)?

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىۡۤ اَخَافُ اَنۡ يُّكَذِّبُوۡنِؕ ۝١٢

26:12He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me,

وَيَضِيۡقُ صَدۡرِىۡ وَلَا يَنۡطَلِقُ لِسَانِىۡ فَاَرۡسِلۡ اِلٰى هٰرُوۡنَ ۝١٣

26:13And I shall be embarrassed, and my tongue will not speak plainly, therefor send for Aaron (to help me).

وَلَهُمۡ عَلَـىَّ ذَنۡۢـبٌ فَاَخَافُ اَنۡ يَّقۡتُلُوۡنِۚ ۝١٤

26:14And they have a crime against me, so I fear that they will kill me.

قَالَ كَلَّاۚ فَاذۡهَبَا بِاٰيٰتِنَآ اِنَّا مَعَكُمۡ مُّسۡتَمِعُوۡنَ ۝١٥

26:15He said: Nay, verily. So go ye twain with Our tokens. Lo! We shall be with you, Hearing.

فَاۡتِيَا فِرۡعَوۡنَ فَقُوۡلَاۤ اِنَّا رَسُوۡلُ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَۙ ۝١٦

26:16And come together unto Pharaoh and say: Lo! we bear a message of the Lord of the Worlds,

اَنۡ اَرۡسِلۡ مَعَنَا بَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَؕ ۝١٧

26:17(Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us.

قَالَ اَلَمۡ نُرَبِّكَ فِيۡنَا وَلِيۡدًا وَّلَبِثۡتَ فِيۡنَا مِنۡ عُمُرِكَ سِنِيۡنَۙ ۝١٨

26:18(Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us,

وَفَعَلۡتَ فَعۡلَتَكَ الَّتِىۡ فَعَلۡتَ وَاَنۡتَ مِنَ الۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ ۝١٩

26:19And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst, and thou wast one of the ingrates.

قَالَ فَعَلۡتُهَاۤ اِذًا وَّاَنَا مِنَ الضَّآلِّيۡنَؕ ۝٢٠

26:20He said: I did it then, when I was of those who are astray.

فَفَرَرۡتُ مِنۡكُمۡ لَمَّا خِفۡتُكُمۡ فَوَهَبَ لِىۡ رَبِّىۡ حُكۡمًا وَّجَعَلَنِىۡ مِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِيۡنَ ۝٢١

26:21Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him).

وَتِلۡكَ نِعۡمَةٌ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَـىَّ اَنۡ عَبَّدْتَّ بَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَؕ ۝٢٢

26:22And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel.

قَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ وَمَا رَبُّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَؕ ۝٢٣

26:23Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds?

قَالَ رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَاؕ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ مُّوۡقِنِيۡنَ ۝٢٤

26:24(Moses) said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if ye had but sure belief.

قَالَ لِمَنۡ حَوۡلَهٗۤ اَلَا تَسۡتَمِعُوۡنَ ۝٢٥

26:25(Pharaoh) said unto those around him: Hear ye not?
