Surah Al-Mumenoon (المؤمنون)

Ayat 1–25

قَدۡ اَفۡلَحَ الۡمُؤۡمِنُوۡنَۙ ۝١

23:1Successful indeed are the believers

الَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ فِىۡ صَلَاتِهِمۡ خَاشِعُوۡنَۙ ۝٢

23:2Who are humble in their prayers,

وَالَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ عَنِ اللَّغۡوِ مُعۡرِضُوۡنَۙ ۝٣

23:3And who shun vain conversation,

وَالَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ لِلزَّكٰوةِ فَاعِلُوۡنَۙ ۝٤

23:4And who are payers of the poor-due;

وَالَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ لِفُرُوۡجِهِمۡ حٰفِظُوۡنَۙ ۝٥

23:5And who guard their modesty -

اِلَّا عَلٰٓى اَزۡوَاجِهِمۡ اَوۡ مَا مَلَـكَتۡ اَيۡمَانُهُمۡ فَاِنَّهُمۡ غَيۡرُ مَلُوۡمِيۡنَۚ ۝٦

23:6Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy,

فَمَنِ ابۡتَغٰى وَرَآءَ ذٰ لِكَ فَاُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡعٰدُوۡنَۚ ۝٧

23:7But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors -

وَالَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ لِاَمٰنٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَاعُوۡنَۙ ۝٨

23:8And who are keepers of their pledge and their covenant,

وَالَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ عَلٰى صَلَوٰتِهِمۡ يُحَافِظُوۡنَۘ ۝٩

23:9And who pay heed to their prayers.

اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ الۡوَارِثُوۡنَۙ ۝١٠

23:10These are the heirs

الَّذِيۡنَ يَرِثُوۡنَ الۡفِرۡدَوۡسَؕ هُمۡ فِيۡهَا خٰلِدُوۡنَ ۝١١

23:11Who will inherit paradise. There they will abide.

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنۡ سُلٰلَةٍ مِّنۡ طِيۡنٍۚ ۝١٢

23:12Verily We created man from a product of wet earth;

ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنٰهُ نُطۡفَةً فِىۡ قَرَارٍ مَّكِيۡنٍ ۝١٣

23:13Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging;

ثُمَّ خَلَقۡنَا النُّطۡفَةَ عَلَقَةً فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡعَلَقَةَ مُضۡغَةً فَخَلَقۡنَا الۡمُضۡغَةَ عِظٰمًا فَكَسَوۡنَا الۡعِظٰمَ لَحۡمًا ثُمَّ اَنۡشَاۡنٰهُ خَلۡقًا اٰخَرَؕ فَتَبٰـرَكَ اللّٰهُ اَحۡسَنُ الۡخٰلِقِيۡنَؕ ۝١٤

23:14Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators!

ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمۡ بَعۡدَ ذٰ لِكَ لَمَيِّتُوۡنَؕ ۝١٥

23:15Then lo! after that ye surely die.

ثُمَّ اِنَّكُمۡ يَوۡمَ الۡقِيٰمَةِ تُبۡعَثُوۡنَ ۝١٦

23:16Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again).

وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا فَوۡقَكُمۡ سَبۡعَ طَرَآٮِٕقَۖ وَمَا كُنَّا عَنِ الۡخَـلۡقِ غٰفِلِيۡنَ ۝١٧

23:17And We have created above you seven paths, and We are never unmindful of creation.

وَاَنۡزَلۡنَا مِنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءًۢ بِقَدَرٍ فَاَسۡكَنّٰهُ فِى الۡاَرۡضِۖ وَاِنَّا عَلٰى ذَهَابٍۢ بِهٖ لَقٰدِرُوۡنَۚ ۝١٨

23:18And we send down from the sky water in measure, and We give it settle in the earth, and lo! We are Able to withdraw it.

فَاَنۡشَاۡنَا لَـكُمۡ بِهٖ جَنّٰتٍ مِّنۡ نَّخِيۡلٍ وَّ اَعۡنَابٍۘ لَـكُمۡ فِيۡهَا فَوَاكِهُ كَثِيۡرَةٌ وَّمِنۡهَا تَاۡكُلُوۡنَۙ ۝١٩

23:19Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat;

وَشَجَرَةً تَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ طُوۡرِ سَيۡنَآءَ تَنۡۢبُتُ بِالدُّهۡنِ وَصِبۡغٍ لِّلۡاٰكِلِيۡنَ ۝٢٠

23:20And a tree that springeth forth from Mount Sinai that groweth oil and relish for the eaters.

وَاِنَّ لَـكُمۡ فِى الۡاَنۡعَامِ لَعِبۡرَةً ؕ نُسۡقِيۡكُمۡ مِّمَّا فِىۡ بُطُوۡنِهَا وَلَـكُمۡ فِيۡهَا مَنَافِعُ كَثِيۡرَةٌ وَّمِنۡهَا تَاۡكُلُوۡنَۙ ۝٢١

23:21And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat;

وَعَلَيۡهَا وَعَلَى الۡـفُلۡكِ تُحۡمَلُوۡنَ ۝٢٢

23:22And on them and on the ship ye are carried.

وَلَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوۡحًا اِلٰى قَوۡمِهٖ فَقَالَ يٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰهَ مَا لَـكُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰهٍ غَيۡرُهٗؕ اَفَلَا تَتَّقُوۡنَ ۝٢٣

23:23And We verily sent Noah unto his folk, and he said: O my people! Serve Allah. Ye have no other god save Him. Will ye not ward off (evil)?

فَقَالَ الۡمَلَؤُا الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ قَوۡمِهٖ مَا هٰذَاۤ اِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثۡلُكُمۡۙ يُرِيۡدُ اَنۡ يَّـتَفَضَّلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡؕ وَلَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ لَاَنۡزَلَ مَلٰٓٮِٕكَةًۖۚ مَّا سَمِعۡنَا بِهٰذَا فِىۡۤ اٰبَآٮِٕنَا الۡاَوَّلِيۡنَۚ ۝٢٤

23:24But the chieftains of his folk, who disbelieved, said: This is only a mortal like you who would make himself superior to you. Had Allah willed, He surely could have sent down angels. We heard not of this in the case of our fathers of old.

اِنۡ هُوَ اِلَّا رَجُلٌۢ بِهٖ جِنَّةٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوۡا بِهٖ حَتّٰى حِيۡنٍ ۝٢٥

23:25He is only a man in whom is a madness, so watch him for a while.
