Surah Al-Anbiya, Ayah 52 (21:52)
اِذۡ قَالَ لِاَبِيۡهِ وَقَوۡمِهٖ مَا هٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيۡلُ الَّتِىۡۤ اَنۡتُمۡ لَهَا عٰكِفُوۡنَ ٥٢
English translation (Pickthall)
When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion?
Page 327
وَلَٮِٕنۡ مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةٌ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُوۡلُنَّ يٰوَيۡلَنَاۤ اِنَّا كُنَّا ظٰلِمِيۡنَ ٤٦
21:46And if a breath of thy Lord's punishment were to touch them, they assuredly would say: Alas for us! Lo! we were wrong-doers.
وَنَضَعُ الۡمَوَازِيۡنَ الۡقِسۡطَ لِيَوۡمِ الۡقِيٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَـفۡسٌ شَيۡــًٔـاؕ وَاِنۡ كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ اَتَيۡنَا بِهَاؕ وَكَفٰى بِنَا حٰسِبِيۡنَ ٤٧
21:47And We set a just balance for the Day of Resurrection so that no soul is wronged in aught. Though it be of the weight of a grain of mustard seed, We bring it. And We suffice for reckoners.
وَلَـقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسٰى وَهٰرُوۡنَ الۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِيَآءً وَّذِكۡرًا لِّـلۡمُتَّقِيۡنَۙ ٤٨
21:48And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder for those who keep from evil,
الَّذِيۡنَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ بِالۡغَيۡبِ وَهُمۡ مِّنَ السَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُوۡنَ ٤٩
21:49Those who fear their Lord in secret and who dread the Hour (of doom).
وَهٰذَا ذِكۡرٌ مُّبٰرَكٌ اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُؕ اَفَاَنۡتُمۡ لَهٗ مُنۡكِرُوۡنَ ٥٠
21:50This is a blessed Reminder that we have revealed: Will ye then reject it?
وَلَـقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَاۤ اِبۡرٰهِيۡمَ رُشۡدَهٗ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّا بِهٖ عٰلِمِيۡنَۚ ٥١
21:51And We verily gave Abraham of old his proper course, and We were Aware of him,
اِذۡ قَالَ لِاَبِيۡهِ وَقَوۡمِهٖ مَا هٰذِهِ التَّمَاثِيۡلُ الَّتِىۡۤ اَنۡتُمۡ لَهَا عٰكِفُوۡنَ ٥٢
21:52When he said unto his father and his folk: What are these images unto which ye pay devotion?
قَالُوۡا وَجَدۡنَاۤ اٰبَآءَنَا لَهَا عٰبِدِيۡنَ ٥٣
21:53They said: We found our fathers worshippers of them.
قَالَ لَـقَدۡ كُنۡتُمۡ اَنۡتُمۡ وَاٰبَآؤُكُمۡ فِىۡ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيۡنٍ ٥٤
21:54He said: Verily ye and your fathers were in plain error.
قَالُوۡۤا اَجِئۡتَـنَا بِالۡحَـقِّ اَمۡ اَنۡتَ مِنَ اللّٰعِبِيۡنَ ٥٥
21:55They said: Bringest thou unto us the truth, or art thou some jester?
قَالَ بَلْ رَّبُّكُمۡ رَبُّ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالۡاَرۡضِ الَّذِىۡ فَطَرَهُنَّۖ وَاَنَا عَلٰى ذٰلِكُمۡ مِّنَ الشّٰهِدِيۡنَ ٥٦
21:56He said: Nay, but your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who created them; and I am of those who testify unto that.
وَ تَاللّٰهِ لَاَكِيۡدَنَّ اَصۡنَامَكُمۡ بَعۡدَ اَنۡ تُوَلُّوۡا مُدۡبِرِيۡنَ ٥٧
21:57And, by Allah, I shall circumvent your idols after ye have gone away and turned your backs.
