Surah Al-Anbiya, Ayah 42 (21:42)
قُلۡ مَنۡ يَّكۡلَـؤُكُمۡ بِالَّيۡلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحۡمٰنِؕ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَنۡ ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ مُّعۡرِضُوۡنَ ٤٢
English translation (Pickthall)
Say: Who guardeth you in the night or in the day from the Beneficent? Nay, but they turn away from mention of their Lord!

وَاِذَا رَاٰكَ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡۤا اِنۡ يَّتَّخِذُوۡنَكَ اِلَّا هُزُوًاؕ اَهٰذَا الَّذِىۡ يَذۡكُرُ اٰلِهَـتَكُمۡۚ وَهُمۡ بِذِكۡرِ الرَّحۡمٰنِ هُمۡ كٰفِرُوۡنَ ٣٦
21:36And when those who disbelieve behold thee, they but choose thee out for mockery, (saying): Is this he who maketh mention of your gods? And they would deny all mention of the Beneficent.
خُلِقَ الۡاِنۡسَانُ مِنۡ عَجَلٍؕ سَاُورِيۡكُمۡ اٰيٰتِىۡ فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنِ ٣٧
21:37Man is made of haste. I shall show you My portents, but ask Me not to hasten.
وَيَقُوۡلُوۡنَ مَتٰى هٰذَا الۡوَعۡدُ اِنۡ كُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِيۡنَ ٣٨
21:38And they say: When will this promise (be fulfilled), if ye are truthful?
لَوۡ يَعۡلَمُ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا حِيۡنَ لَا يَكُفُّوۡنَ عَنۡ وُّجُوۡهِهِمُ النَّارَ وَلَا عَنۡ ظُهُوۡرِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنۡصَرُوۡنَ ٣٩
21:39If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not be able to drive off the fire from their faces and from their backs, and they will not be helped!
بَلۡ تَاۡتِيۡهِمۡ بَغۡتَةً فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيۡعُوۡنَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنۡظَرُوۡنَ ٤٠
21:40Nay, but it will come upon them unawares so that it will stupefy them, and they will be unable to repel it, neither will they be reprieved.
وَلَـقَدِ اسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِالَّذِيۡنَ سَخِرُوۡا مِنۡهُمۡ مَّا كَانُوۡا بِهٖ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُوۡنَ ٤١
21:41Messengers before thee, indeed, were mocked, but that whereat they mocked surrounded those who scoffed at them.
قُلۡ مَنۡ يَّكۡلَـؤُكُمۡ بِالَّيۡلِ وَالنَّهَارِ مِنَ الرَّحۡمٰنِؕ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَنۡ ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ مُّعۡرِضُوۡنَ ٤٢
21:42Say: Who guardeth you in the night or in the day from the Beneficent? Nay, but they turn away from mention of their Lord!
اَمۡ لَهُمۡ اٰلِهَةٌ تَمۡنَعُهُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِنَاؕ لَا يَسۡتَطِيۡعُوۡنَ نَـصۡرَ اَنۡفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ مِّنَّا يُصۡحَبُوۡنَ ٤٣
21:43Or have they gods who can shield them from Us? They cannot help themselves nor can they be defended from Us.
بَلۡ مَتَّـعۡنَا هٰٓؤُلَاۤءِ وَاٰبَآءَهُمۡ حَتّٰى طَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ الۡعُمُرُ ؕ اَفَلَا يَرَوۡنَ اَنَّا نَاۡتِى الۡاَرۡضَ نَـنۡقُصُهَا مِنۡ اَطۡرَافِهَاؕ اَفَهُمُ الۡغٰلِبُوۡنَ ٤٤
21:44Nay, but We gave these and their fathers ease until life grew long for them. See they not how we visit the land, reducing it of its outlying parts? Can they then be the victors?
قُلۡ اِنَّمَاۤ اُنۡذِرُكُمۡ بِالۡوَحۡىِۖ وَلَا يَسۡمَعُ الصُّمُّ الدُّعَآءَ اِذَا مَا يُنۡذَرُوۡنَ ٤٥
21:45Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I warn you only by the Inspiration. But the deaf hear not the call when they are warned.
