Surah Al-Kahf, Ayah 68 (18:68)
وَكَيۡفَ تَصۡبِرُ عَلٰى مَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِهٖ خُبۡرًا ٦٨
English translation (Pickthall)
How canst thou bear with that whereof thou canst not compass any knowledge?

قَالَ اَرَءَيۡتَ اِذۡ اَوَيۡنَاۤ اِلَى الصَّخۡرَةِ فَاِنِّىۡ نَسِيۡتُ الۡحُوۡتَ وَمَاۤ اَنۡسٰٮنِيۡهُ اِلَّا الشَّيۡطٰنُ اَنۡ اَذۡكُرَهٗۚ وَاتَّخَذَ سَبِيۡلَهٗ فِىۡ الۡبَحۡرِۖ عَجَبًا ٦٣
18:63He said: Didst thou see, when we took refuge on the rock, and I forgot the fish - and none but Satan caused me to forget to mention it - it took its way into the waters by a marvel.
قَالَ ذٰ لِكَ مَا كُنَّا نَبۡغِۖ فَارۡتَدَّا عَلٰٓى اٰثَارِهِمَا قَصَصًاۙ ٦٤
18:64He said: This is that which we have been seeking. So they retraced their steps again.
فَوَجَدَا عَبۡدًا مِّنۡ عِبَادِنَاۤ اٰتَيۡنٰهُ رَحۡمَةً مِّنۡ عِنۡدِنَا وَعَلَّمۡنٰهُ مِنۡ لَّدُنَّا عِلۡمًا ٦٥
18:65Then found they one of Our slaves, unto whom We had given mercy from Us, and had taught him knowledge from Our presence.
قَالَ لَهٗ مُوۡسٰى هَلۡ اَتَّبِعُكَ عَلٰٓى اَنۡ تُعَلِّمَنِ مِمَّا عُلِّمۡتَ رُشۡدًا ٦٦
18:66Moses said unto him: May I follow thee, to the end that thou mayst teach me right conduct of that which thou hast been taught?
قَالَ اِنَّكَ لَنۡ تَسۡتَطِيۡعَ مَعِىَ صَبۡرًا ٦٧
18:67He said: Lo! thou canst not bear with me.
وَكَيۡفَ تَصۡبِرُ عَلٰى مَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِهٖ خُبۡرًا ٦٨
18:68How canst thou bear with that whereof thou canst not compass any knowledge?
قَالَ سَتَجِدُنِىۡۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ صَابِرًا وَّلَاۤ اَعۡصِىۡ لَكَ اَمۡرًا ٦٩
18:69He said: Allah willing, thou shalt find me patient and I shall not in aught gainsay thee.
قَالَ فَاِنِ اتَّبَعۡتَنِىۡ فَلَا تَسۡـَٔـلۡنِىۡ عَنۡ شَىۡءٍ حَتّٰٓى اُحۡدِثَ لَـكَ مِنۡهُ ذِكۡرًا ٧٠
18:70He said: Well, if thou go with me, ask me not concerning aught till I myself mention of it unto thee.
فَانْطَلَقَا حَتّٰۤى اِذَا رَكِبَا فِى السَّفِيۡنَةِ خَرَقَهَاؕ قَالَ اَخَرَقۡتَهَا لِتُغۡرِقَ اَهۡلَهَاۚ لَقَدۡ جِئۡتَ شَيۡــًٔـا اِمۡرًا ٧١
18:71So they twain set out till, when they were in the ship, he made a hole therein. (Moses) said: Hast thou made a hole therein to drown the folk thereof? Thou verily hast done a dreadful thing.
قَالَ اَلَمۡ اَقُلۡ اِنَّكَ لَنۡ تَسۡتَطِيۡعَ مَعِىَ صَبۡرًا ٧٢
18:72He said: Did I not tell thee that thou couldst not bear with me?
قَالَ لَا تُؤَاخِذۡنِىۡ بِمَا نَسِيۡتُ وَلَا تُرۡهِقۡنِىۡ مِنۡ اَمۡرِىۡ عُسۡرًا ٧٣
18:73(Moses) said: Be not wroth with me that I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my fault.
فَانْطَلَقَا حَتّٰۤى اِذَا لَقِيَا غُلٰمًا فَقَتَلَهٗۙ قَالَ اَقَتَلۡتَ نَـفۡسًا زَكِيَّةًۢ بِغَيۡرِ نَـفۡسٍؕ لَـقَدۡ جِئۡتَ شَيۡــًٔـا نُّـكۡرًا ٧٤
18:74So they twain journeyed on till, when they met a lad, he slew him. (Moses) said: What! Hast thou slain an innocent soul who hath slain no man? Verily thou hast done a horrid thing.
