Surah Ibrahim, Ayah 3 (14:3)
الَّذِيۡنَ يَسۡتَحِبُّوۡنَ الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَا عَلَى الۡاٰخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّوۡنَ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَيَبۡغُوۡنَهَا عِوَجًاؕ اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ فِىۡ ضَلٰلٍۢ بَعِيۡدٍ ٣
English translation (Pickthall)
Those who love the life of the world more than the Hereafter, and debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked: such are far astray.
Page 256
وَقَدۡ مَكَرَ الَّذِيۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَلِلّٰهِ الۡمَكۡرُ جَمِيۡعًاؕ يَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡسِبُ كُلُّ نَفۡسٍؕ وَسَيَـعۡلَمُ الۡـكُفّٰرُ لِمَنۡ عُقۡبَى الدَّارِ ٤٢
13:42Those who were before them plotted; but all plotting is Allah's. He knoweth that which each soul earneth. The disbelievers will come to know for whom will be the sequel of the (heavenly) Home.
وَيَقُوۡلُ الَّذِيۡنَ كَفَرُوۡا لَسۡتَ مُرۡسَلًا ؕ قُلۡ كَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ شَهِيۡدًۢا بَيۡنِىۡ وَبَيۡنَكُمۡۙ وَمَنۡ عِنۡدَهٗ عِلۡمُ الۡكِتٰبِ ٤٣
13:43They who disbelieve say: Thou art no messenger (of Allah). Say: Allah, and whosoever hath knowledge of the Scripture, is sufficient witness between me and you.
الۤرٰ كِتٰبٌ اَنۡزَلۡنٰهُ اِلَيۡكَ لِـتُخۡرِجَ النَّاسَ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوۡرِࣙۙ بِاِذۡنِ رَبِّهِمۡ اِلٰى صِرَاطِ الۡعَزِيۡزِ الۡحَمِيۡدِۙ ١
14:1Alif. Lam. Ra. (This is) a Scripture which We have revealed unto thee (Muhammad) that thereby thou mayst bring forth mankind from darkness unto light, by the permission of their Lord, unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise,
اللّٰهِ الَّذِىۡ لَهٗ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الۡاَرۡضِؕ وَوَيۡلٌ لِّـلۡكٰفِرِيۡنَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ شَدِيۡدِࣙۙ ٢
14:2Allah, unto Whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. and woe unto the disbelievers from an awful doom;
الَّذِيۡنَ يَسۡتَحِبُّوۡنَ الۡحَيٰوةَ الدُّنۡيَا عَلَى الۡاٰخِرَةِ وَيَصُدُّوۡنَ عَنۡ سَبِيۡلِ اللّٰهِ وَيَبۡغُوۡنَهَا عِوَجًاؕ اُولٰۤٮِٕكَ فِىۡ ضَلٰلٍۢ بَعِيۡدٍ ٣
14:3Those who love the life of the world more than the Hereafter, and debar (men) from the way of Allah and would have it crooked: such are far astray.
وَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مِنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ اِلَّا بِلِسَانِ قَوۡمِهٖ لِيُبَيِّنَ لَهُمۡؕ فَيُضِلُّ اللّٰهُ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِىۡ مَنۡ يَّشَآءُؕ وَهُوَ الۡعَزِيۡزُ الۡحَكِيۡمُ ٤
14:4And We never sent a messenger save with the language of his folk, that he might make (the message) clear for them. Then Allah sendeth whom He will astray, and guideth whom He will. He is the Mighty, the Wise.
وَلَـقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا مُوۡسٰى بِاٰيٰتِنَاۤ اَنۡ اَخۡرِجۡ قَوۡمَكَ مِنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوۡرِࣙۙ وَذَكِّرۡهُمۡ بِاَيّٰٮمِ اللّٰهِؕ اِنَّ فِىۡ ذٰ لِكَ لَاٰيٰتٍ لّـِكُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَكُوۡرٍ ٥
14:5We verily sent Moses with Our revelations, saying: Bring thy people forth from darkness unto light. And remind them of the days of Allah. Lo! therein are revelations for each steadfast, thankful (heart).
