Surah Yunus, Ayah 14 (10:14)
ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنٰكُمۡ خَلٰٓٮِٕفَ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لِنَـنۡظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ١٤
English translation (Pickthall)
Then We appointed you viceroys in the earth after them, that We might see how ye behave.

اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَرۡجُوۡنَ لِقَآءَنَا وَرَضُوۡا بِالۡحَيٰوةِ الدُّنۡيَا وَاطۡمَاَنُّوۡا بِهَا وَالَّذِيۡنَ هُمۡ عَنۡ اٰيٰتِنَا غٰفِلُوۡنَۙ ٧
10:7Lo! those who expect not the meeting with Us but desire the life of the world and feel secure therein, and those who are neglectful of Our revelations,
اُولٰٓٮِٕكَ مَاۡوٰٮهُمُ النَّارُ بِمَا كَانُوۡا يَكۡسِبُوۡنَ ٨
10:8Their home will be the Fire because of what they used to earn.
اِنَّ الَّذِيۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ يَهۡدِيۡهِمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ بِاِيۡمَانِهِمۡۚ تَجۡرِىۡ مِنۡ تَحۡتِهِمُ الۡاَنۡهٰرُ فِىۡ جَنّٰتِ النَّعِيۡمِ ٩
10:9Lo! those who believe and do good works, their Lord guideth them by their faith. Rivers will flow beneath them in the Gardens of Delight,
دَعۡوٰٮهُمۡ فِيۡهَا سُبۡحٰنَكَ اللّٰهُمَّ وَتَحِيَّـتُهُمۡ فِيۡهَا سَلٰمٌۚ وَاٰخِرُ دَعۡوٰٮهُمۡ اَنِ الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ ١٠
10:10Their prayer therein will be: Glory be to Thee, O Allah! and their greeting therein will be: Peace. And the conclusion of their prayer will be: Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds!
وَلَوۡ يُعَجِّلُ اللّٰهُ لِلنَّاسِ الشَّرَّ اسۡتِعۡجَالَهُمۡ بِالۡخَيۡرِ لَـقُضِىَ اِلَيۡهِمۡ اَجَلُهُمۡؕ فَنَذَرُ الَّذِيۡنَ لَا يَرۡجُوۡنَ لِقَآءَنَا فِىۡ طُغۡيَانِهِمۡ يَعۡمَهُوۡنَ ١١
10:11If Allah were to hasten on for men the ill (that they have earned) as they would hasten on the good, their respite would already have expired. But We suffer those who look not for the meeting with Us to wander blindly on in their contumacy.
وَاِذَا مَسَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ الضُّرُّ دَعَانَا لِجَنۡۢبِهٖۤ اَوۡ قَاعِدًا اَوۡ قَآٮِٕمًا ۚ فَلَمَّا كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُ ضُرَّهٗ مَرَّ كَاَنۡ لَّمۡ يَدۡعُنَاۤ اِلٰى ضُرٍّ مَّسَّهٗؕ كَذٰ لِكَ زُيِّنَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِيۡنَ مَا كَانُوۡا يَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ١٢
10:12And if misfortune touch a man he crieth unto Us, (while reclining) on his side, or sitting or standing, but when We have relieved him of the misfortune he goeth his way as though he had not cried unto Us because of a misfortune that afflicted him. Thus have the deeds of the transgressores been made fair-seeming unto the prodigal.
وَلَقَدۡ اَهۡلَـكۡنَا الۡـقُرُوۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوۡا ۙ وَجَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُمۡ بِالۡبَيِّنٰتِ وَمَا كَانُوۡا لِيُـؤۡمِنُوۡا ؕ كَذٰ لِكَ نَجۡزِى الۡقَوۡمَ الۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ ١٣
10:13We destroyed the generations before you when they did wrong; and their messengers (from Allah) came unto them with clear proofs (of His Sovereignty) but they would not believe. Thus do We reward the guilty folk.
ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنٰكُمۡ خَلٰٓٮِٕفَ فِى الۡاَرۡضِ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ لِنَـنۡظُرَ كَيۡفَ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ١٤
